THE FUTURE IS NOW

Walt Disney Pictures newest animated movie, "Meet The Robinsons", has arrived and is now playing in a theatre near you. It's the story of an orphan boy named Lewis (voiced by Daniel Hansen) who spends his days inventing a bunch of wacky gadgets while he waits to be adopted by the perfect family. After a disasterous demonstration of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich machine, he is turned down by prospective parents for the 124th time. (He's been keeping count).
It seems like he will never find a real home.

But when things don't go his way, he tries even harder. Lewis sets out to build a memory scanner to help retrieve lost memories in the hope of finding his real mother. But once again, this time thanks to the mysterious Bowler Hat Guy, Lewis' invention has a disasterous debut at the school science fair.

In flies Wilbur Robinson, a kid from the future, in a stolen time machine.
He's there to stop the Bowler Hat Guy from ruining Lewis' life but more importantly, to make sure that Lewis "keeps moving forward."

Wilbur takes Lewis back to the future where he meets the zany Robinson family and the real adventure begins. Along the way, things start to click. Wilbur's real motive comes to light and we learn all about Bowler Hat Guy. In the end, everything comes together, and like Lewis, we learn about friends, family and the real lesson, never give up on ourselves.

AT THE PREMIERE

I was lucky enough to attend the world premiere of Meet The Robinsons on March 25, 2007 at the El Capitan theatre in Hollywood. I had a small part in the movie. I actually played one of the kids at the science fair. My science project, the Self-Contained Eco-System, didn't make the final cut but if you listen close, you might catch me scream when all the chaos begins. Keep an eye on my friend Franny (voiced by Jessie Flower) and her frogs. I'm so proud to have worked on this amazing film. I think it really turned out great.

This was only my second big Hollywood premiere, but without a doubt, it was the best yet. Disney really knows how to throw a party. Walking the Red Carpet is always a blast. I admit it. I love posing for the photgraphers and doing the interviews. It's also fun running into friends I've worked with and meeting new ones.

But the highlight of the night had to be meeting the Jonas Brothers. I love their music and getting to see them perform on stage was such a treat. But getting to hang out with them afterwards was even cooler.

They are really nice guys. We talked about muisc, guitars and our mutual friend CB. Nick, the youngest, (and I think the cutest) even gave me his guitar pick which I now use everyday when I practice.

Their song "Kids Of The Future" is featured on the movie soundtrack and can be heard right here.

I have been to the future and it sure was fun!
